Description

The Nanbu Jukan Railway is a railway that opened in 1962 between Chihiki and Shichinohe, and was later extended to Noheji using the roadbed of the former Tohoku Main Line created by track switching. The Kiha 104 is a vehicle that was introduced in 1980 by taking over the JNR Kiha 10 type to meet the increasing demand for commuting to school. In addition to being mainly used during rush hours, it was also used along with Kiha 101 and 102 on event trains and when there were many passengers just before service was suspended, and even after being discontinued, it is still preserved in working condition.
