Description

The DF50 series is a diesel-electric locomotive manufactured to replace steam locomotives on sub-main lines. It was deployed throughout Japan except Hokkaido and was also used to pull sleeper express trains, but was retired in 1983 due to the increase in the number of DD51 series.
