TAMIYA 1/48 LEOPARD 2 A7V Scale: 1/48 Category: Military Model Kit Expected Arrival: 2nd Quarter 2026 The Tamiya 1/48 Leopard 2 A7V brings Germany’s latest main battle tank variant to the popular Military Miniature Series.

Designed to deliver high detail with straightforward assembly, this kit uses approximately one-third the number of parts found in Tamiya’s 1/35 scale version, making it accessible while still offering an accurate and impressive finished model.

Introduced in 2017, the Leopard 2 A7V represents a major upgrade to the proven Leopard 2 platform.

Building on the A7, the A7V features enhanced frontal hull armour for improved survivability, along with strengthened running gear to manage the increased weight.

Its powerful 120mm L/55 gun , carried over from the A6 variant, is capable of engaging armoured targets at distances of up to five kilometres when paired with modern ammunition.

Additional improvements include upgraded optics for improved performance in low-visibility conditions, revised tracks, and a redesigned turret rear basket. A total of 104 tanks are being upgraded to the A7V standard, with deliveries to Bundeswehr units beginning in 2021.
