Why this kit matters When the sixth generation (C31) Skyline series launched in 1981, the 2000 Turbo GT-E S stood out with bold styling, a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-6 engine producing around 145 hp, and features like four-wheel independent suspension and disc brakes on all wheels.
This Tamiya kit revives that era of Japanese automotive performance in model form.
It offers both visual appeal and mechanical challenge — replicating both exterior curves and mechanical underpinnings makes it rewarding for serious hobbyists.
The model’s compatibility with common 1:24 car modelling accessories and paints makes it a strong choice for those building a vintage Japanese car collection.
How to use it Start by inspecting sprues and removing parts carefully using sprue cutters.
Clean up mould lines and fit parts dry first.
Use plastic cement to bond body, chassis and interior components.
Paint components using recommended car paints (acrylic or enamel), apply decals from the decal sheet, and complete weathering or finishing touches as desired.
Once complete, display it in a cabinet, on a diorama base or alongside other car models.
This is a plastic model kit.
Assembly, paint, and glue are required.
It is not a toy.
