Description

Bugatti 100 Racer - On the eve of WWII Ettore Bugatti decided to construct a racing plane that would win the popular Deutsch de la Meurthe race. During construction, the initial idea of a single-engine plane was abandoned and in the end the Bugatti 100 carried two engines placed asymmetrically behind each other that drove the counter-rotating propellers. The plane was expected to break the world speed record. The test flight never happened because Germany invaded France and the plane was hidden. It is now on display at the EAA Aviation Museum in the US. Since our Bugatti 100 in 1/72 is selling so well, we decided to make it in 1/48 as well. There are two frames with plastic sprues and an injected canopy. The machine carried no markings so the kit doesn't contain any decals. The instructions offer two colour schemes, one of them fictional.
