Shunters Epoch III and IV at work The model figures wear work clothes typical of Epochs II and IV and yellow helmets. Epochs II and IV designate the period from approximately 1945 to approximately 1990. All figures assume typical working poses. Shunters are also referred to as shunting assistants or yard workers. They couple or uncouple vehicles, secure parked vehicles with wheel chocks, and operate switches. They hold uncoupled railway cars with brake shoes and observe the track. The set is perfectly suited to decorate stations and rail depots on model railway systems realistically. The set contains six hand-painted shunters for N gauge (scale 1:160, approx. 1.1 cm high).
