The Messerschmitt Bf 109 monoplane fighter is, without a doubt, one of the most famous fighter aircraft of the Second World War and can be considered one of the symbols of the Luftwaffe. Along with the Focke-Wulf Fw 190, it formed the backbone of the Luftwaffe's fighter squadrons. The Bf 109 was flown by the most famous German aces, achieving a significant number of aerial victories.
