The Schwerer Panzerspähwagen Sd.Kfz. 234 series armoured cars were produced by the German war industry in the final phase of the Second World War. They were characterised by a high level of construction quality that combined mobility, operational flexibility and offensive capacity. The project was an excellent mix of speed on all types of terrain, protection and firepower and was able to synthesise the operational experience that the Wehrmacht had gathered in the early years of the Second World War.

It could reach a maximum speed of 85 km/h on the road. Among the various versions produced, the Sd.Kfz. 234/3 was armed with the 75 mm KwK37 short-barreled cannon installed in a fixed position in an “open-air” fighting room that could be used effectively as support for infantry, against poorly protected targets, but also against lightly armoured vehicles.
