The Gun Motor Carriage M6 was made by modifying the famous Dodge WC52 4x4 with the application, on the rear body, of a 37 mm light antitank gun. The 6-cylinder Dodge T-214 99 bhp engine could reach the M6 almost 90 km / h speed on the road. It was used by the American army from the end of 1942 and saw its participation in all the operating theaters of the Second World War such as the Mediterranean, the European front and the Pacific. The GMC M6 was set up and developed as an anti-tank vehicle but, since its first operational use in Tunisia, its light cannon was often ineffective against the protections of the most recent German tanks. His role was therefore partly modified and used as a support vehicle for the infantry.
