The 80 mm frontal protection and 50 mm side/rear armor, combined with a 25 mm roof, increased total weight to 18 tons. Powered by a Maybach HL45P engine, the vehicle achieved 31 km/h maximum speed and mounted a 2 cm KwK38 L/55 main gun. MAN produced 22 examples between April and December 1942, with seven tanks distributed to the 12th Panzer Division on the Eastern Front.
