The Mitsubishi Galant is a lower-mid-range and later mid-range Japanese automobile that was originally introduced to the public in 1969.

Its serial manufacture began the same year and lasted until 2012, making the model nearly 40 years old! During its existence, over 5 million cars of this model were made.

The cities of Okazaki in Japan and Normal in the United States were the main centres of production.

The Mitsubishi Galant was designed and manufactured to broaden the company's business offering and, originally, to boost its market share in the lower-middle class automobile segment.

Colt Galant was the name of the first generation of the Galant model, which was mostly based on the Colt 1500 model in terms of design and technical solutions.

Repositioned and moved to the middle-class automobile sector in 1983.

This necessitated not just design changes, but also an increase in travel comfort, the introduction of a wider range of engines, and the provision of a more comprehensive base equipment package.

The car might be driven by one of various 4- or 6-cylinder engines with capacities ranging from 1.6 to 3,8 litres in the future, and it could be paired with a manual, semi-automatic, or automated transmission.

In total, nine iterations of the Galant model were produced, the most recent of which was introduced in 2004.
