The authenticity runs deeper than appearance, though. The Axial SCX10 III Toyota SR5 is equipped with officially licensed Trail-Gear components recognised by serious off-roaders worldwide. The AR45P portal axles feature fabricated-style housings that mirror Trail-Gear’s full-size designs while significantly increasing ground clearance and durability. Portal axles raise the axle centreline, allowing this RC rock crawler to clear obstacles that would challenge standard axle setups. 

Boat-side Trail-Gear rock sliders not only enhance scale realism but also improve trail performance. Their angled underside increases clearance and helps the chassis glide over rocks and uneven terrain, as well as protecting the body and chassis. 

Finishing the authentic look are licensed Creeper Lock beadlock wheels wrapped in Interco Super Swamper tyres, delivering dependable traction across rock, dirt and loose surfaces. 

Proven SCX10 III Platform with LCXU Transmission 

At its core, the Axial SCX10 III platform provides strength, adjustability and crawling precision. The steel C-channel chassis minimises flex under load while improving suspension precision. The two-piece chassis allows easy wheelbase adjustments, while the high-performance, LCXU single-speed transmission delivers smooth, reliable power and a low centre of gravity. And with full ball bearings plus all-metal internal gears, it’s built for durability. Internal gearing can also be swapped to accommodate optional standard axles (SA gears sold separately). 

The integrated dig function lets you lock the rear axle on demand. This dramatically tightens your turning radius and helps the front tyres bite into steep rock faces or tricky ledges, creating a serious advantage for advanced RC crawling. 

Heavy-duty Wild Bore driveshafts ensure consistent power delivery when climbing, descending or working through uneven terrain. 

Tunable Suspension and High-Clearance Design 

Aluminium threaded oil-filled shocks allow you to fine-tune preload and damping to suit your terrain. Whether you're setting up for technical rock crawling or mixed bush trails, the suspension provides a strong balance between scale realism and performance. 

High-clearance front and rear bumpers are engineered with both scale accuracy and function in mind, optimising approach and departure angles without sacrificing durability. A lightweight moulded composite exocage adds rugged styling while maintaining a stable centre of gravity for confident trail performance. 

Reliable Spektrum Electronics 

The included power system pairs an Axial 35T brushed motor with a Spektrum 40A waterproof brushed ESC, offering smooth throttle control and dependable performance for extended trail sessions. 

Included electronics: 

• Spektrum SLT3 3-channel transmitter with throttle limiting (50% and 75%) 
• Spektrum SR515 DSMR 5-channel waterproof receiver 
• Spektrum SPMS683 waterproof metal-gear servo 

Four AA batteries are included for the transmitter, so you’re nearly ready to go straight out of the box. Simply add a 2S or 3S LiPo battery and compatible charger to complete your setup. 

Built for Trail Adventure 

The clipless body mounting system eliminates visible body clips for a cleaner scale appearance and quick chassis access. A simple press of the rear latch allows the body to lift away in seconds. The integrated battery tray mounted on the rock slider accommodates everything from compact competition packs to larger 5000mAh trail batteries, secured firmly with elastomer straps.
