In the early 1980s, car enthusiasts were swept into a frenzy by the “Super Silhouette Series.” Monster machines that still retained traces of production cars such as the Skyline and Bluebird were fitted with bold aero parts, lightweight bodies of under one ton, and turbo engines producing over 570 horsepower. They thundered down the straights at astonishing speeds, then decelerated before corners with fierce after-fire blazing from the exhaust. The sheer spectacle left car fans of the era thrilled.
