Description

Ken and Mary's Skyline

The fourth-generation Skyline C110 series, affectionately known as "Kenmeri," was unveiled in September 1972 as a full model change of the legendary C10 series. From its launch, the commercial campaign featuring two young characters, Ken and Mary, told a romantic and human story that gained immense popularity across all age groups, eventually becoming a societal phenomenon. While the car itself was a massive hit, numerous merchandise items tied to it also became popular, with over 300,000 T-shirts sold.
With its iconic long-nose, short-deck style, quadruple round tail lamps, "surf line" design, and horizontal pointer meters, Kenmeri carried all the distinct identities of the Skyline. It went on to become the best-selling model in the series' history, with cumulative production exceeding 670,000 units. Among these, the four-door model later gained the nickname "Yonmeri" (Four-Meri) in the mid-80s and continues to be fondly referred to as such.
