History

Initially conceived as a lightweight and cost-effective jet fighter, the small Folland Gnat found extensive use with the Royal Air Force as an advanced fast jet trainer. It joined the RAF in 1959 and played a pivotal role in training numerous fast jet pilots over its 20-year tenure.

The Gnat's compact size and agile handling made it an ideal aircraft for instructing pilots in the demanding skills necessary for fast jet flying.
