RC glow plugs and spark plugs are essential parts of your engine’s ignition. With so many options, it can be hard to choose the right plug for your vehicle. Take a look at our breakdown of the different types of RC plugs in our range.
Standard Glow Plugs — Just like the name implies, standard plugs give you reliable performance, perfect for everyday driving. They’re designed to work with the majority of nitro engines, having the “standard” thread makes them compatible with a wide range of engines. Good quality Iridium plugs don’t need to be replaced too often, but if your model is hard to get started, this should be the first step.
Turbo plugs — These plugs are great for racing as they reduce compression leakage to give your vehicle more power. However, turbo plugs start at a higher price tag and wear out faster than standard plugs. They also are fitted with a different thread type, so make sure they fit your engine.
We recommend mixing and matching your plugs depending on the occasion. We also suggest keeping a spare set of turbo and standard plugs handy at all times — you don’t want your plugs to give up right before a big race!
A new engine is a surefire way to rev up your ride! If your engine isn’t cutting it, take a look at our replacement RC gas engines and RC nitro engines for sale.
RC Surface Engines
Buggies, monster trucks, bikes, drift cars — whatever your ride of choice, we’ve got the right engine for your surface vehicle.
Perfect for monster trucks, the newly redesigned HPI F4.6 Nitro Star V2 is more durable than ever thanks to its improved pull-start and heatsink. For beginner racers, try the Alpha Club Racer .21 5P Engine, which gives you plenty of control without compromising on power or reliability.
With leading brands including LRP, HPI Racing, Kyosho, Traxxas, Alpha and more, you can rely on our engines for the best performance.
RC Aircraft Engines
Take to the skies with a new engine for your RC aircraft.
Replace your Max 61FX with OS Engines' new Max 65AX Nitro Aircraft Engine! The 65AX has been redesigned with enhanced noise reduction and performance, perfect for club days.
For aerobatic aircraft, look no further than the OS 46AX II. Powerful and lightweight, this sleek engine features a rear-angled needle valve for added safety and a bi-metallic liner for long-lasting performance.
With our range of engines, the sky's the limit — literally!
Do you sell nitro fuel for RC vehicles?
Yes, we do! We stock a range of high-quality nitro fuels from brands including Nitro X.
Our nitro fuel is suitable for all types of RC vehicles. Made from a mix of nitromethane, castor oil and synthetic oil, we offer different quantities to suit your vehicle. For example, most land vehicles contain anywhere from 10% to 30% nitromethane, while some RC aircraft require fuel with 5% nitromethane but increased oil content.
We recommend checking the fuel requirements of your RC vehicle. If you’re still not sure, contact our friendly team online or at 1300 446 229 and we’ll help find the right fuel for your ride.
