Description

The F-15 Eagle is a fighter aircraft of the U.S. Air Force, still considered the strongest air superiority fighter in the world. It made its first flight in 1972, and its deployment began in 1976. The F-15C has been produced in the highest quantity; this aircraft is equipped with two vertical stabilizers on the clipped delta wing, and carries two Pratt & Whitney F100 turbofan engines. It demonstrates high speed and acceleration exceeding Mach 2, and even higher turning ability. In addition, it's equipped with an electronic warfare system, and can carry various missiles such as the AIM-120 air-to-air missile. It boasts high capabilities as a high-speed, high-mobility air superiority fighter. Various updates have been implemented since its deployment began, and its ability has been maintained over time.

This model kit from Platz accurately reproduces the initial type of F-15C with the addition of new parts. The shape of the exhaust nozzle creates a sharp rear view, unique to the early version; the well-established body shape and panel lines give an exceptionally realistic finish. The landing gear is delicately reproduced, and the cockpit is also highly detailed, down to the instrument panels and seats. The decals by Cartograf are for the markings of the 18th Tactical Combat Air Wing (18TFW) deployed in Kadena, Okinawa in the early 1980s -- don't miss the Shogun Mark of the Japanese warrior's helmet!
