Description

The F/A-18C Hornet is a carrier-based fighter operated by the U.S. Navy. Production started in 1979, upgraded based on the early model F/A-18A/B that began deployment, and its first flight was made in 1987. It's equipped with two GE F404-GE-402 turbofan engines that demonstrate 7300kg of hydraulic power with afterburner specifications. It had a top speed of 1,190mph and a range of 1,250 miles. With a combat radius of 460 miles, it demonstrated high capabilities as a fleet defense fighter or interceptor, the fuselage was equipped with a 20mm M61A1 Vulcan cannon, and a total of nine hard points are provided under the wings and under the fuselage. The Hornet's C type demonstrated its ability as a multi-role fighter, enabling the operation of various missiles such as AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, Mabelik air-to-ground missiles, and Harpoon anti-ship missiles. After that, the E/F type with additional upgrades appeared and took over that role.

This model kit from Platz reproduces the single-seat C-type of the F/A-18. The parts are made by F-Toys for a realistic reproduction of the Hornet's sharp shape. The kit also includes weapons and missiles, as well as new designed resin pylons, and decals are included for the VFA-192 Golden Dragons Squadron, which operated the F/A-18C from 1991 to 2013.
