Designed during WWI's final stages, this French super-heavy tank was manufactured by Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerranée (FCM) near Toulon. The 12-crew vehicle measured 10.27m long and 3m wide, with a combat weight of 69 tons. Twin German Maybach 250hp engines powered the electric transmission system, enabling speeds of 12-15km/h. Armor thickness reached 45mm at the front and 22mm on the flanks—adequate against anti-tank weapons of the 1920s-30s era. Primary armament consisted of a 75mm gun with four 8mm auxiliary machine guns. All 10 production examples bore names derived from ancient French provinces.
