Description

NKL-16 are Soviet transport aerosols from the Second World War. The first copies of this vehicle appeared in mid-1941, and serial production continued in 1941-1945. The vehicle was powered by a single M-11 aircraft engine with a maximum power of 150 HP, which allowed it to reach speeds of up to 60 km / h. The length of the vehicle was 6.03 meters and a width of 2.7 meters.

Aeorasana is a specific type of vehicle, the chassis of which is mounted on skids or skis, and the drive uses an internal combustion engine, which very often moves the push propeller. Vehicles of this type are perfect for activities in winter and in areas with thick snow cover. It is not surprising that a lot of attention was paid to the use of such vehicles in the USSR - especially in the 1930s and 1940s. The genesis of NKL-16 aerosols dates back to the summer of 1941, when their design was approved for production. The first version was called NKL-16/41 and had a closed, wooden fuselage and the use of the M-11 engine and propeller from the Polikarpov U-2 planes. Another version is NKL-16/42, in which the fuselage was extended and the engine was mounted higher. The broadly understood ergonomics of the vehicle was also increased. The NKL-16/42 aerosans proved to be a successful vehicle and were used on a large scale until the end of the war, especially in the winter of 1941/1942. In particular, they performed transport tasks, but were also used as liaison and patrol vehicles.
