The Tiger tank was one of the most feared weapons of World War II. It was very heavily armoured and carried powerful weapons on board. The development of the Tiger began as early as 1939

In the beginning of 1945, Kampfgruppe Sculze and Oberleutnant Fehrmann formed a division of 6 Tiger 1 and 5 Panther tanks with the intention of going into the Ruhr area. The Tiger tanks were commanded by Oberleutnant Ferhmann and were designated with f to denote their commander.




Description of the Tiger 1

The Tiger 1 tank was mounted with an 88mm Kw.k. 36 L/56 rifled cannon in a fully traversable turret. The elevation of the turret ranged from -6.5 Degrees to 17 degrees. The tank had 2X 7.92mm MG-34 (1 coaxial in turret, one in ball mount).It held 4800 x 7.92mm rounds. Depending on the type of ammunition used the Tigers 88mm has a muzzle velocity of 930m/s and could penetrate 110mm of armour at a distance of 2km. The tank could reach speeds of 20km/h.
