The GAZ-2330 is a Russian multi-purpose lightly armored off-road vehicle from modern times. The first prototypes of the car appeared in 2001, and its production started in 2004 or 2005 and is still going on. The car entered the line in 2006. In the basic version, the car is 560 cm long, 220 cm wide and 230 cm high. The curb weight, depending on the version, ranges from 6,600 to 7,200 kilograms. The load capacity of the vehicle is 1,200 kilograms. The most commonly used power units are the Cummins B180TD engine with a capacity of 5.9 liters and 180 HP or the GAZ-562 with a capacity of 3.2 l and 215 HP.

The roots of the presented vehicle go back to the 1990s, when the GAZ plants established cooperation with the company Bin Jabr Group Ltd from the UAE in order to create a light armored vehicle, also intended for off-road use. In order to shorten the research and development work, the components of the BTR-80 and GAZ-39371 Wodnik were used in the new vehicle. However, at the beginning of the 21st century, the cooperation between the two entities was severed. Despite this, the GAZ plants continued to develop the design on their own, and the interest in the new vehicle was expressed relatively quickly by the Russian Ministry of the Interior, and shortly thereafter - by the armed forces of the Russian Federation. It is assumed that in 2017 there were approximately 800-900 vehicles of this type in the equipment of various uniformed services in Russia. It is worth adding that various versions of this vehicle were or are exported to, among others, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia.
